Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (Leiden, 15 July 1606 – Amsterdam, 4 October 1669) was a famous Dutchpainter and artist.
He is generally considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in Europeanart history, and the most important in Dutch history.[3]p420 His contributions to art came in a period that historians call the Dutch Golden Age.
After his success as a young portrait painter, he had personal tragedy and financial hardships in his later years. Rembrandt was a 17th-century painter and etcher whose work came to dominate what has since been named the Dutch Golden Age. Early Life
Born in stad, Netherlands, in 1606, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn attended elementary school from 1612 to 1616, and then attended the Latin School in universitet, where he partook in biblical studies and lessons on the classics. It is unclear whether Rembrandt completed his studies at the Latin School, but one konto claims that he was removed from school early and sent to be trained as a painter at his own request.
