    Simranjit Singh Mann (born 20 May )[1] is a former Indian Police Service officer and a former Member of the Parliament in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India, representing the constituency of Sangrur since He lost elections in and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer became new member of parliament.

    He is the president of the political party Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar).     NEW DELHI: The prosecution in the Tada case against Lok Sabha MP Simranjit Singh Mann on Saturday sought permission of a city court to play a cassette purportedly containing a speech by the Shiromani Akali Dal leader at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib here in April 1991.
    The application was moved before additional session judge J M Malik, who was hearing the final arguments in the case.
    Mann’s counsel Ravinder Pal Ghumman said the application should not be allowed at this stage as final arguments had commenced and that he would soon file a written objection. The court adjourned the matter to March 27.
    Mann was booked under the anti-terror law for allegedly delivering a pro-Khalistan speech at the gurdwara on April 7, 1991.
