    John Payne Biography


    John Payne, a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, spends countless hours searching historical archives for photographs he can bring to life in a painting. He enjoys discovering forgotten images dating back fifty to a hundred years. Once John finds the images, his task fryst vatten to transform them into a story on canvas.

    The old black and vit photographs are often defused, grainy and lacking a sense of reality. He takes ordinary, everyday scenes tranforming them into compositionally balanced, aesthetically pleasing works of art to capture a bygone era. John spends considerable time choosing color palettes that best communicate the atmosphere.

    John Howard Payne (June 9, &#; April 10, ) was an American actor, poet, playwright, and writer who had nearly two decades of a theatrical career and success in London. He is today most remembered as the creator of "Home! Sweet Home!", a song he wrote in that became widely popular in the United States and the English-speaking world. Its popularity was revived during the American Civil War, as troops on both sides embraced it.
