Kala Keerthi Sembuge Gamini Shelton Fonseka, also known as ගාමිණී ෆොන්සේකා (21 March 1936 – 30 September 2004), was a prominent figure in Sri Lankan cinema, celebrated for his contributions as an actor, director, and politician. Often hailed as the finest actor in Sinhala Cinema, Fonseka left an indelible mark on the industry during the 1960s and 1970s, earning multiple Best Actor awards. In addition to his cinematic endeavors, he served as the Deputy Speaker of the Sri Lanka Parliament from 1989 to 1994 and as the Governor of the North-Eastern Province from 1995 to 1998.
He is widely recognized as the King of Sri Lankan cinema, holding the distinction of being the first among three esteemed actors, including Joe Abeywickrama and Tony Ranasinghe, to pass away.

Malini Fonseka – Sri Lanka
Malini Fonseka is a veteran Sri Lankan film actress. In her glorious career spanning over 50 years, she has acted in more than 140 films. She has been an integral part of defining the Sri Lankan cinema for what it is right now.Born on 30 April 1947 as Wanniarachchige Malini Senehelatha Fonseka, she took the stage name Malini Fonseka. Her first notable role was in Tissa Liyansooriya's Punchi Baba (1968). She first became widely known when she won the 'Best Actress Award' at the 1969 National State Drama Festival. This was followed by Sarasaviya Best Actress Awards for Hingana Kolla in 1980, Aradhana in 1982 and Yasa Isuru in 1983.
Some of her successful films are Nidhanaya by Lester James Peiris, Siripala Saha Ranmenika by Amaranath Jayathilake, Eya Den Loku Lamayek and Bambaru Ewith by Dharmasena Pathiraja. She achieved a significant milestone in her artistic career with Sasara Chetana (1984), where she became both its director and produc
