    A professor (Gary Oldman) grapples with a pharmaceutical company when his lab’s results conflict with their claims of a “non-addictive” pain killer.

    An undercover agent (Armie Hammer) posing as a drug trafficker arranges a really big buy/sting of fentanyl between the American and Canadian border.

    The crisis in questions is of course opioids and we definitely need to be looking at it from all angles with a very critical eye. I’m just not sure Crisis is the movie to do it. It acknowledges many of the problems (which can be boiled down to: money corrupts, and opioids are worth a LOT of money to a LOT of people), but because this isn’t gonzo journalism but a thriller, it attempts to solve these problems with guns.

    Auto Focus appears in an aspect ratio of approximately 1.85:1 on this single-sided, double-layered DVD; the image has been enhanced for 16X9 televisions. Shot on a low budget, Auto Focus occasionally displayed characteristics typical for cheaper films, but it looked pretty solid overall.

    Sharpness seemed positive. The movie remained crisp and detailed from start to finish. I noticed no problems related to softness during this tight and concise presentation. Jagged edges and moir� effects created no concerns, but a little edge enhancement cropped up at times. I also detected some light artifacting, but print flaws caused no problems.

    Since Auto Focus changed its color scheme as the movie progressed, the hues varied. During the bright, overblown early sequences, the tones came across as somewhat too heavy and runny.
