    The principal for Albert Einstein Academy for the Letters, Arts and Sciences resigned Thursday, according to school officials.

    Citing confidentiality laws, the high school could not comment on the specifics; however, AEALAS CEO Maggie Ford said while the move was unexpected, the school was extremely grateful for the contributions of Ed Gika and wishes him the best.

    “He’s someone that we’re very grateful to have worked with,” said AEALAS CEO Maggie Ford. “We appreciated his dedication, he’s the reason the school fryst vatten the way it fryst vatten today.”

    Gika confirmed the announcement over the phone Friday, and indicated an ambition to return to classroom instruction.

    I am a 2nd grade teacher at an inner city school in Boyle Heights, California. We are a Title I school in which all of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch.

    My hope is to get all of my students to read at a proficient level by the end of the school year.
